Mission Statement: The mission of Irma Lerma Rangel Young Women's Leadership School is to nurture young women in leadership roles in a global society, through a community dedicated to rigorous educational and cultural experiences.To ensure that students graduate from college, we will prepare young women to succeed in all fields, particularly: math, science, technology, leadership, and wellness. Special Programs: Student Laptop Program, Advisory Groups, Big Sister, Little Sister Leadership Development Seminars, Orchestra, Handbells Clubs and Organizations: LULAC, Key Club, Girl Scouts, Student Council, National Honor Society After-school programs: After-school activities are Monday-Thursday (transportation is provided), after-school tutoring, Peace Club, Knitting, GEO Club, Robotics, Drama Club Extracurricular activities: Lacrosse, Academic Decathlon, Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer, Debate Team Major Awards & Honors: TEA exemplary school; Principal of the Year nominee: Vivian Taylor Samudio; Dana Clark received the 2010 STEM award by TI (Texas Instruments).
