Vivian Taylor Samudio
Vivian Taylor Samudio currently serves as principal of The Irma Lerma Rangel Young Women's Leadership School. Her educational philosophy is simply, "Student failure is not an option."
Mrs Samudio began her teaching career with the Dallas Independent School District in 1980. She has taught various levels including Elementary, ESL, Early Childhood and Special Education.
She entered the administrative arena in 1992 as Assistant Principal of L.L. Hotchkiss Montessori Academy. She continued as an Assistant Principal when L.L. Hotchkiss relocated to George Bannerman Dealey Montessori Academy, two years later she was appointed Principal of Dealey Montessori.
Under her leadership, George Bannerman Dealey Montessori Middle School received Exemplary Rating for five consecutive years. In 2001-2002, George Bannerman Dealey Montessori Middle School was the only school in DISD recognized by the Department of Education as a Blue Ribbon School. Vivian has served on various DISD Administrative Committees and Focus Groups, such as the Principal's Reading Advisory Committee, Southwestern Bell Principal's Fellowship, Crozier Tech Focus Group and Teacher Incentive Pay Focus Group.
