The Foundation of Education of Young Woman will be providing each student with the book for her grade level.
The goal for the FEYW Summer Reading program is to create a common theme from the selected books that is carried over into the school year for discussion in Advisory classes and further development in classroom reading and assignments.
This year's theme looks at the idea of rebel as hero - understanding the obstacles and struggles faced by the main character as she learns her strengths, her weaknesses, and finally learns resilience and perseverance. The books also examine issues of ethics and personal choice and how they determine personal outcomes.
